At Eastern Silos we emphasise use of fertilizers of organic origin such as compost manure, green manure, and bone meal, as well as emphasis on techniques such as crop rotation and companion planting. Key elements of our organic farms include:

Whole Grain Flour
Millet is a versatile, gluten free grain. Its alkaline properties makes it easy to digest and helps balance the body’s natural tendency towards acidity. Our Millet flour has a light, mild flavour, making it perfect for sweet or savoury baking. It lends a delicate cake-like crumb to your baked goods. It can also be used to make cake-like dumpling, providing a perfect accompaniment for any stew.
Millet is considered a “nutri-cereal” because it is high in fiber and protein and rich in B vitamins, (especially niacin, B6 and folic acid), phosphorus, manganese (a trace mineral that acts as an antioxidant), and may benefit people suffering with arthritis, inflammation, PMS and poor bone health.
